Gameplay Programmer

My undergraduate education was at West Virginia University where I studied Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. I was studying these disciplines because I wanted to work in the robotics industry. I found robotics to be very interesting but when I began working on video games, I found my true passion.
Recycling Robot
Dates: January to December 2011
Project Duration: 2 Semesters (1 semester of research, 1 semester of design)
For my capstone project, I led a two man team in creating a recycling robot. Using an educational Roomba as a chassis, we developed an autonomous robot that used a webcam for navigating and identifying recyclable materials in its environment.


Lunabotics
Dates: Spring 2011
Project Duration: 1 Semesters
Lunabotics is a NASA sponsored robotics challenge. Teams were asked to design a digging robot capable of operating on the moon. Despite having a limited time to develop the robot, and over 30 other schools competing, we placed second overall in the competition.

Operating Systems

I led a three man team to produce a very basic operating system using turbo C. I learned time and resource management, while facing multiple technical difficulties and limitations.

Perot Systems
Dates: Summer 2009
I was an intern for Perot Systems at the United States Coast Guard Operations Systems Center under Douglas Horton. I worked on the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue System.
